To GooGoo or not to GooGoo

Fri Mar 10, 2006, 1:50 AM
Does anyone else like GooGoo Dolls ? I was just wondering… I listen to all sorts of stuff - for instance my play list right now consists of Gorilaz ,FooFighters, Katie Melua, The All American Rejects, Seal (I can just hear multitudinous cringes - lol), N.E.R.D. Iron Maiden and GooGoo Dolls. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. But for some reason whenever I’m stressed or happy or just want to relax I automatically reach for GooGoo Dolls. There is something about their singer’s voice that makes me feel so… peaceful I guess. It’s a kind of aaaahh feeling, like when you get into a nice warm bath after a physically challenging day and you can feel all your muscles slowly relax. Obviously it has to do with the music and lyrics as well, but his voice, mmm…I don’t know why I respond to his voice like that - I’m definitely not complaining :D Another band/ guy that does that to me are/is Shades Apart. And in lesser quantity Jewel - with her it’s more about the lyrics and music, although she does have a beautiful voice. It’s just she’s a girl, I’m a girl - you get the picture :XD:
Usually after a totally random babble like this one I get a sort of reminder. Today’s reminder is about appreciation. I’m glad my parents raised me with music and books and I’m happy there is so much to choose from, so much that makes me happy. Most of all I am really thankful I can actually hear and see. It may seem cheesy, but I think it’s good to remember from time to time what I have. It keeps me grounded.
Well so much for today. Find someone/something that gives you that aaaahh feeling, it’s great.

Thanks for that link, this is the one my dad’s got: [link]
I started with that camera :XD: Some very interesting photos resulted from the sticky winder. You’d wind on, it would feel and sound normal, but when you got your photos back you’d have a double or triple exposure. Some were just rubbish, but some were great. I took a close up (as much as the lens would allow he, he) of some flowers, and then a photo of a Rough Collie (think Lassie) running on the meadow and hey presto: Thanks to Smena’s iffy winding mechanism I have a photo of a tiny dog running through a giant flower. :XD: And all before Photoshop! ;P
